Chasing this game for a lifetime i’ve watched players over the years struggle day in and day out working toward perfecting parts of there game to help them play better golf. When you turn on the TV on Sundays to watch the players on tour come down the stretch what are some of the similar things you see? How often do you see the players with the same grips? Don’t know about you but i see players with the V in their lead hand pointing everywhere from their chin to their right shoulder. What about stances alignments and postures? We see some that mirror each other but nothing concrete right? Lee Trevino won six major championships and 29 PGA Tour events over the course of his career. He is one of only four players to twice win the U.S. Open, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship. The only major that eluded him was the Masters Tournament. Think he would have won more events if he would have got his stance parallel to his target line? What if he would have went through his career working toward perfection on his set up? Do you think he would have played the same level of golf?
Find the items of your game that are going to make the biggest influence on your game! How about working on your swing bottom and creating a repeatable match up. Playing games on the range and shortgame area that require feel and visualization. Those are the real fundamentals that i see when watching tour players play. Mental toughness and creativity like no other. Hope you enjoyed this short blog and i look forward to your game taking a step forward this year.
